Inmates

Interview with Elizabeth

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Elizabeth: Yes I found it hard to get along with some inmates and other inmates I knew from being locked up before, yes because other inmates I didn't get along with was because they was acting corny or either it was younger people than me that was acting childish and I just wanted to start my time

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Elizabeth: I tried to get a job, I had to think positive, I read my bible called home and wrote letters home to my family, and visited with my family . Went to church on Sundays in jail, applied for programs that I needed to do for myself so I can get myself together and stay out of trouble.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Elizabeth: No you were not able to choose your inmate but if you were having a problem with an inmate they would have changed your cell, I was in there for 18 months and I changed my cell twice, once because I had a problem with a dude and the second time I moved because I started working and they change to one when you get a job
