Meals

Interview with Greg and Tyler

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Greg: Three meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, dinner.
Tyler: we got three horrible meals a day

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Greg: I would rate the food being poor. For breakfast it was a mini biscuit with grits too soggy to eat and water to drink and rock hard sausage. For lunch it was 1 ham sandwich. And for dinner it was LEFT OVERS from breakfast and maybe some greens. Thanksgiving Day the jail did give us some commonly known thanksgiving food.
Tyler: I would rate the food horrible because its all processed or canned food that sometimes is not even cooked all the way. the trays we would eat on would sometimes have dead bugs on them and it was just very unsanitary. the food hardly had any taste to it. I thought it was just sad

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Greg: I hated with a passion all the meals. Lunch is maybe the best one i had because it came in a bag which let me hold onto it longer.
Tyler: I did not have any favorite meals or least favorite because I thought it was all garbage including the powdered eggs they would feed us

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Greg: No snacks were offered unless you had money in your account. Then you could buy a Snickers Bar for around $2.00. And after you ordered it, it took hours or even a day before you got it.
Tyler: Yes commissary was offered and the prices were not too bad. they really just had a lot of junk food on there to cure sweet tooth. the only healthy thing on there was a tuna pouch
