Closing Advice

Interview with Viktor, Veronica and Paula

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Viktor: Mail is very important, write them as often as possible. Visitation is a mixed bag. On one hand visitors are great, on the other, I hated for my kids to see me there.
Veronica: that the most important thing to people in jail are the visits and mail. Mail helps so much with the visits. That makes the whole thing go faster knowing you have people out there for you and money on your books.
Paula: Make sure they have money. And write to them mail is very very important. But hopefully they think before they break the law. Just be prepared to have a a lot of time to think.

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Viktor: Not really. Just don't make waves and do your time.
Veronica: just do what you have to do stay out of trouble and do your time and get out and never go back. it just takes away all your dignity to be there
Paula: Just remember you can not changed anything on the outside while your in the jail. Its very stressful in there. So don't worry about your wife or husband cheating on you. Don't drive yourself crazy. Just have your loved ones come and visit and write and bring money.

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Veronica: Topeka Correctional Facility
Paula: Topeka Correctional Facility. Franklin County Jail.. Ottawa, Kansas
