Visitor Policy

Interview with Helen and Leon

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Helen: I believe that you could get visitors either once or twice a week but I didn't receive any so I'm not completely sure.
Leon: There were two days a week for visitors, I don't remember which days. One weekend and one weekday.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Helen: I am not sure how long the check in process was because I never received any visitors because I was only there for a few days.
Leon: I'm not sure, think it might've taken an hour or so. They search your bags and run your ID for warrants.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Helen: I wasn't in Warren County long enough to get visitors so I am unsure of what the visiting environment was like. None of the inmates that I seen while I was there had any visitors or spoke of visitations that they had. My fiance was in Warren County for a few weeks before he was transferred to prison and I seen him a few times. I do know that visits were behind glass.
Leon: It's a room like in the movies with the telephone thingy on either side of the glass, one for you and one for them. There were different rooms for attorney visits and in-person visits.
