Medications

Interview with Traci and Mama

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Traci: No, it was very hard to try to get to see the nurse even if it was just for a headache.
Mama: No

JM: How did you get your medications?
Traci: The nurse would bring them around but it was so slow. There was this one girl who was a repeat and they knew she was always in and out but she was on anti-seizure medicine. Well, this one time they waited five days before they gave her the medication and she was having siezures all the time.
Mama: "IF" they gave your medication it was in front of a nurse.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Traci: I never saw anything like that up there.
Mama: Solitary rooms.
