JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Tara: No. I have a Masters degree. I was immediately
persued by both the librarian and the infirmary
for a job while incarcerated.I am intelligent. I
helped other inmates to do research on their
cases, and wrote dozens of drafts and revisions
for their legal matters. They told me what they
wanted to say, and I worded it in a more
intelligent and grammatically correct fashion. I
got the knickname of the jailhouse lawyer.Since i
worked inthe infirmary, I was never in the
"block". I was in the infirmary working from 8am
to 4pm, Monday through Friday.
Greg: I got along with the other in a very well I managed to just
keep to myself instead away from Other inmates I read a
ride and I kept busy Don: I got along with a lot of them. Except the Child
molesters. And there are a lot of them. You prove
yourself as soon as u get there. U have to
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Tara: I didn't have to do anything. I kept to myself, and
they needed me to do letters and research for them,
so they left me alone. You have to pretend that you
don't see women sleeping together(sexually, turn a
blind eye to notes being passed between cooks and
inmates and generally act clueless.) Greg: Well to root problems in fights just manage to talk to the
other inmates trying to get along with the other inmates I
also manage to stay out of trouble by unloading trucks on
the wedding doc that helps keep on my time to help keep
me out of trouble quite a bit Don: Just mind your own business. Pay back any loans
when u said you would. Fights are unavoidable in
jail. You just have to make sure you are
respected and have people u trust to watch your
back and u do the same in return. Make sure your
not a bitch.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Tara: I was celled with a woman who smoked, hid
contraband, and did other stupid stuff. Luckily,
she found an old friend(prostitute) who she moved
in with and I had the cell to myself. Which worked
out fine. I was hardly ever in it, so the staff
kept it locked throughout the day when I was
working, so other inmates couldn't steal from me. Greg: I was not able to choose a cell mate but my soulmate was
fairly quiet and kept to himself so we manage to get along
pretty well without any incidents Don: It varies once a month sometimes more if u don't
get along and you are both fighting each other a
lot. I had my Cousin as a cellie for a bit.
