JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Luke: Not in holding cell but in gen population there
were phones
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Luke: phone charges are way to high.Collect calls or you
had to buy a phone card which never lasted to
long. I would say on an average a guy could spend
30 -50$ a week easy if he or his family has the
funds to do that.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Luke: No you could call collect but it was a little
cheaper if you had phone cards.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Luke: Yes..Im sure not all the time but Im sure some of
the time
