JM: How often could you receive visitors? Elise: not knowing anyone there, I only had one visitor. And it was just for
about an hour Jack: You could get visitors once per week. The day and
time was based on your last name. Justin: 1 TIME PER WEEK FOR 45 MIN VIA VIDEO SCREEN. WHEN
THEY WORKED BUT NO FACE TO FACE Sean: twice a week you could have a visitor that you
can talk to over a phone, like a teleconference
call
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? Elise: not that I knew of Jack: When people came to visit they had to show ID and
the person at the jail would check their name to
see if they had any outstanding warrants then they
sent them back to where the video conferencing
stuff is. Justin: YES, THGEY HAVE TO MAKE AN APPT 24 HRS IN ADVANCE
SHOW PHOTO ID. THEY HAVE TO BE THERE 15 MIN IN
ADVANCE IF THERE 1 MIN LATE NO VISIT. Sean: ive been told that the wait was long due to bad
scheduling on the jailers behalf, and my
visitors felt violated just to get to the phone
JM: What was the visiting environment like? Elise: Just a room with several chairs and windows Jack: It was clean and bright with lots of windows all
around. The picture on the screen was also very
clear and it was easy to see the people you were
talking to for the most part. Sometimes the volume
would go out and then it would be hard to hear for
a few minutes but it usually fixed itself. Justin: AWFUL, THE SCREENS USUALLY DONT WORK AND YOU HAVE
OTHER INMATES LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER AND THE
NOISE IS SO BAD U CANT HEAR YOURSELF THINK MUCH LESS
HEAR YOU FAMILY ON THE OTHER END. I SAW SEVERAL
FIGHTS OVER INMATES DISRESPECTING FAMILY MEMBERS
THAT WERE ON THE OTHER END Sean: when you get a visitor, you never even leaveyour
cell block....you just sit in front of a little
tv on a phone, like a teleconference call, and
see your visitor through the screen...whats bad
about that is all the other inmates see them
too....inmates will stand to the side and
masturbate while looking at your spouse...its
disgusting
