JM: How many different blocks were there? Mario: The jail had 2 blocks A block and B block. 2
the trusties had there own space . and they had
a program for 309's. they were housed seperatly. Tanya: 2
JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they? Mario: A block had many different pods.. i never been
to A block i was told it was for more violent
people. B block had many pods they had letter
names.. B-b B-a B-j B-m..then you had the
trustie pod.. and the 309's were housed.. Tanya: There was 1 & 2 block. Then within the blocks are
pods which are labeled with the letters in the
alphabet. For example G pod or Z pod.
JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks? Mario: the trusties, the 309's from prison.they had
several felony pods. and several misdemeanor
pods.they had female pods.. violent people were
housed different form other people.. they had
special housing for rapeist. and killers. Tanya: Inmates are housed according to where they are in
there case or sentence. Like pre trial is
together, committed is housed together according
to their commitment misdemeanor or ADC, Act 570
(parole office committed) and so on.
JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks? Mario: I was only house in 1 block b-b. It was open
barrecks. I enjoyed the freedom of coming and
going not being locked down.WE were able to move
around 15 hours a day. we were aloud to go out
side 1 hour a day.. I herd some of the other
blocks were locked down 23 hours a day.. and did
not have A A meetings like we did in b-b. Tanya: All of it is unpleasant. I don't recall anything
nice about being incarcerated.
