JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Mario: I had access to a law libary 5 days a week. i
had access to church 5 days a week. I was able
to attend A A meetings twicea a month... I had
access to yard call 7 days a week for 1 hour a
day.. weather pending on rain or shine. Tanya: They have church and drug and alcohol (recovery)
support groups that came in.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Mario: I was in cell block B-b WE did not have tv's.
card playing with friends was easy. church was
allways available. there was a waiting list for
a bible. there were people with news papers,
they were passed around dailey.. yard call was
available and easy. law libiary i had to sign up
for in advance.some times the phones were hard
to use.. some times there were lines of people
waiting for use. Tanya: There is no entertainment for the women in
Washington County Arkansas jail. You can buy
cards dominoes or checkers off of commissary if
you have money on your books.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Mario: I had access to yard call weather pending.We did
not have exercise equpiment.but i exercised
every day... the food was high in starch.. the
hard part was staying motivated. Tanya: Didn't try one way or the other. Just tried to
get through it and go home.
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Mario: I had a choice to go out side 7 days a week.

side.Inside my pod i did pushups..sit ups.. and
lifted a water bag.. and walcked alot..
Tanya: 1 hour a day but I never went.
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Mario: they jail offerd church 5 days a week. they were
in the late afternoon,and they were peace full.
we read the bible, sang, and prayed. Tanya: Yes but I didn't go.
