JM: Which jail did you visit?
Julie: Kern county Lerdo Minimum detention Facility

JM: How long ago was your visit?
Julie: 2weeks

JM: How many times did you visit?
Julie: we'll over 15 times

JM: How do you go about making an appointment to see an inmate?
Julie: I had to be at the jail no later than 8:45am in order to check in and have the inmate called out for visiting

JM: How long did check-in process take?
Julie: 15min

JM: Were the guards accommodating?
Julie: Not really. they just monitor you while you sit there on the bench. they don't hardly intermingle.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Julie: well it's quite impersonal since no contact is allowed at all. it's definitely not private since the next group is at the picnic table directly next you.

JM: How long was your visit? Did the guards ever allow you to take extra time?
Julie: the visit lasts an hour long and no extra time is given.

JM: What was the parking situation like?
Julie: It's not hard to find parking. You just park in a dirt lot.

JM: What advice would you offer to somebody who is going to visit an inmate in this jail?
Julie: Those benches are very cold so dress warm
