Meals

Interview with Max

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Max: Three. The first time I went they served three hot meals a day. The second time they had changed it to cold breakfast, cold lunch and hot dinner. I think it was due to budget constraints.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Max: Terrible. It is the worlds best weight loss plan.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Max: An upside is the jail gives each inmate a bundle of salt, pepper and sweetener packs when you are first booked. Those help with the flavor of the food. Some of the meals I liked were salisbury steak and instant mashed potatoes, spagetti, enchilada mash stuff. The pancakes and link sausages were ok but I don't think they serve those for breakfast any more.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Max: For Halloween and Christmas, a local church is allowed to bring in little bags of candy and cookies for the inmates. It's a nice gesture. Other than that, you have to buy your own snacks from commissary. The prices aren't too bad. I need my coffee so I bought that off commissary.
