Jail Layout

Interview with Howard

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Howard: They were cellblocks. I was in D block. Don't really know what the rest of the layout was like. Where I was on the bottom was the holding and it was like a big bullpen with rooms one side. Upstairs the cells were like 8x8 two bunks two guy sto a room.

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Howard: They were 1 2 3 and ABC.

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Howard: They set it up by degree or charge. The violent charges were in one block, non violent in another and the drug charges in another. Sometimes they put the drugs in with the violent offenders.

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Howard: There was no nice part. It's old as hell, built back in the 60s. Smells like urine and bleach.
