JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Lena: Standard jail outfit of coveralls material, shirt
and undershirt, pants. All orange except the
underwear. Janis: Nothing you were wearing when you
came in was allowed at all, nor were you
allowed to have anything sent in. Anna: I wouldn't know. I never had money to take
advantage of this. But I knew like what's already
been said was available.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Lena: That was all they gave you. Janis: It was just an Orange two piece. The
pants had an elastic waistband and were
not form fitting or flattering. The top was
a v neck pullover with short sleeves and
both were branded with WVDC Anna: My uniform was orange. I had a scrub looking top
and pants. Underneath that I had a white t shirt.
A white sports bra. I was also given underwear and
socks. Sandals were also issued to me.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Lena: Oh no. Nothing at all. Janis: Sweaters and thermals, but you had to
have a chronic for those. Anna: Underwear and bra's. The medium or large underwear
would go fast. Also the sports bras
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Lena: I'm not sure what was going on with the guys over
there. I'm guessing was the orange jumpsuit too. Janis: No, it was the same two piece. Anna: Well I know the guys wouldn't need sports bra's.
But guy inmates that I saw were dressed in the
same. Blue or orange.
