Interview with Hillary and Leslie
JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Hillary: Yes.
Leslie: yes except at certain times
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Hillary: You had to have credit on your account. So if
someone came and put money on your books you
could make a call or buy things off commissary.
I'm not sure how much the calls cost. You could
also call collect, but it was a high chance that
the person wouldn't accept because they were
more expensive.
Leslie: certain people stayed on the phone a lot others
not at all I think its about eight dollars a call
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Hillary: No but you could use money from your books to
make calls.
Leslie: not the first few times
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Hillary: Yes, at least they said they were.
Leslie: yes look at casey anthony
