Interview with JD

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
JD: Yes, one could have prescription medications delivered to the facility by friends or family.

JM: How did you get your medications?
JD: For prescription medications the jail nurse would administer medication at meal times, with immidiate consumption striclty enforced. Non prescription medications like aspirin or tylenol could be requested to jail staff and it was up to their discretion. Again immediate consupmtion was striclty enforced.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
JD: If an inmate was caguht hoarding, using or selling any unauthorized drugs or medication it would result in a change of disciplinary status. Example- removal from a msidemeanor POD into a a cell or felony area POD.
