Interview with Darren

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Darren: Big baggy clothes, two sizes too large. Pretty much like scrubs, orange color. It said Inmate of Muscogee County. Pants were dark navy blue, elastic waistbands, no pockets. Shoes were orange plastic sandals.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Darren: See above.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Darren: No, everybody pretty much got the same things. The biggest things in high demand people wanted were more covers for their beds. They might want more clothing to use for pillow covers, etc, but this is contraband. Anything that is used for something different than it was intended is considered contraband.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Darren: I think women wore basically the same thing. It might have been a different color, but as far as the style it is the same. I only saw women when I had to go to the infirmary to get my blood pressure checked.
