Meals

Interview with Matthew

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Matthew: We received three meals per day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Matthew: I can not complain about the food at Kane County Jail. The breakfast was served at about 5am. Most of the time I was too tired too eat all of my breakfast. I usually gave away most of it. The lunches were a usually a good "warm' dish. Dinner was also usually a good 'warm' dish. Most of the timethere were people who did not eat all their food so there was usually extra to go around.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Matthew: I think my favorite meal was prbably always dinner. It was the most food of the day and I would be awake for it.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Matthew: Outside of the regular meals was only commissary food if you had it. Most guys would buy the Ramen noodles and make them with whatever temperature water they could get from the bathroom which was usually cold.
