Pre-sentencing

Interview with Tom and Jackie

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Tom: Was held @ the County Corrections till Sentencing
Jackie: It was the usual. Met with the PSI, answered some questioins and that was about it.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Tom: No
Jackie: Actually, I was called to the Bristol Police Department in November of 1997 and the Elkhart Police came to my home in May of 1999.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Tom: On vidio court
Jackie: It was a bit difficult. Judge Duffin kept asking me if I did what I was accused of and if I had permission. I said that I did but that I did have permission. If my attorney had subponed invoices which showed the company's approval instead of just the statements, there would have been no case.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Jackie: Forgery
