Meals

Interview with Sean

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Sean: three meals a day just enough calories to make it to the next meal so you had to eat all the slop

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Sean: horrible often times you would find hairs int he food .. there was saltpeter in the juice to keep us from getting erections.. it was all around inhumane often times the food would all be ran together ... desserts onto of main courses.. graves running into the vegetables.. half of your food stuck to the other guys tray on the bottom.. a trustee would use their ungloved hand and scrape it back into your tray...

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Sean: ... before i got locked up there were a few meals that i didn't like that my wife cooked... now i eat them all even left overs.. anything home cooked is worlds better than the shit they try to serve you in jail.. but if you do not eat it and have no commissary you will starve

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Sean: commissary was like triple priced it was 3.50 for some ramen noodles.. 4 dollars for a snickers.. i refused commissary because it was obvious the jail was making a percentage off of the commissary .. and i did not wish for them to profit off of my incarceration
