Interview with George
JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
George: yes it was difficult because of my age..Being 15 I
was looked at as a piece of young meat and I was hit
oin, harrassed, and humiliated on a daily basis
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
George: To avoid problems or fights with other inmates at my
age I was just worried about hiding and keeping a
low profile so I wouldnt call added attention to
myself..Other things you need to do are keep your
mouth shut, stay quiet and keep to yourself a to not
aggrivate others
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
George: No I was not able to choose a cellmate because of my
age I was placed into a cell for solitary
confinement. My cellmate never changed, I was
always by myself
