Laura: i did not have a problem getting along with other inmates. i dont usually have a problem getting slong with others period. I just like to keep to myself and focus on my release.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Laura: keeping to yourself was a great way to avoid fights, not using or touching another inmates belongings, not laying in another inmates bed, not stealling from other inmates, and the main thing was just keeping to yourself and quiet because if you talk alot and try to make friends you will also finding yourself making enemies.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Laura: i was in a ten person cell and i was not alloud to choose who my cellmates were. my cellmates changed whenever someone left a new person left, or if an inmate had a problem with another cell they could ask to leave and be placed in a different cell.
