Interview with Laura

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Laura: i was charged in taylor with disorderly conduct and did not appear to my court hearing. I recieved a warrant for myy arrest and was later arrested for another charge and was picked up by taylor police who held me untill my araignment where i was senteced to 10 days in jail at clinton county jail.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Laura: No, i had gotten into a verbal altercation with a boy at my high school when i was 17, i had to be excorted by a police officer off of the property and on my way out i started slamming doors which led me to arrest and was charged with disorderly conduct.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Laura: i had been arrested for assault in lincoln park and was picked up on a warrant from taylor PD. i went to court the following morning from the taylor jail. i was escorted in the court in cuffs on my hands and feet that were chained to the other inmates goin to court also. I sat in a box shaped area off to he side. i waited for my name to be call and when it did i proceed to the podium and was told by the judge what i was being charged with. i got a chance to explain that i was sorry and was sentenced to ten days.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Laura: my original charge was disorderly conduct and was convicted of disorderly conduct.
