Meals

Interview with Striker

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Striker: They gave us three meals a day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Striker: It was some of the most disgusting stuff I've ever eaten. All of the meat smelled terrible, and it all tasted like it came out of the same press machine. The bread was always stale and hard. I'll give them some credit on the fruit however, as it was usually still decent. Soups were too watery, snacks were a joke, and the coffee consistency was somewhere between used motor oil and tar, and tasted like it too.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Striker: They were pretty much all my least favorite meals. The only plus side was getting some (relatively) fresh fruit with breakfast.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Striker: No snacks were "offered", but we did have access to commissary. The orders were taken on Mondays, and the orders were delivered on Wednesdays. Personally, I had $20 a week deposited into my account, and I was able to order juice mixes, pickles in a bag, various candy bars, various hard candies, as well as personal body care items and stationery.
