Pre-sentencing

Interview with Raymond

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Raymond: i went through a series of continuations until i was placed on probation. i continued to fail drug test after drug test. after some time and threats of rehab i decided best to serve my time. at which time me and my p.o. went to the judge and activated my sentence.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Raymond: i was arrested because i was scrapping metal. i scrapped a few air condition units that i did not break down. they were able to link it to me pretty quick. i missed the officer when he came to my home so i had to go the office and talk. i admitted my guilt and was givin 2 days before i was charged.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Raymond: court was extremely stressful. at this point i have never been in jail and was very fearful. i had to keep going to the bathroom since i had trouble controlling my bladder. i was releaved after each continuance for a short time. i dont even want to go to court with someone ever again.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Raymond: fellony poss. stolen goods. fellony intent to sale, fel. obtaining under false pretense. i ended up with only a mis. larceny
