Pre-sentencing

Interview with KENNY

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
KENNY: I went to distrist and had an attorney James B. who never talked to me about my case all but 2 mins upon my first meeting. He talked about mens private parts in depth and the body pearcings on men only. When I went to court for a trial I fired Mr. B in front of the judge. She denied my right to fire him because he was inneffective council. He cursed me and another of his clients by calling him a stupid son of a b* then calling me a dumb mother f*er very loudly. Yet the judge being maybe 13 feet from him said she did not hear him and my motion was denied and the trial would resume. The state trooper lied on the stand under oath. Could not even say to the judge or d.a. what kind or color car he had pulled which he was testifying to. He mentioned to different vehicles and stated that the vehicle ran a redlight. Yet the ticket was for a stop sign what he stated at the time of the traffic stop was his probable cause for the stop. I stated to Mr. B that he did not know what kind of vehicle was pulled that day and Mr. B did not question the officer about that. He just told him what kind of vehicle it really was and never questioned the stopsign and red light he was testifying to. The officer changed his testimony immediately and I was found guilty. I appealed to superior court.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
KENNY: No.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
KENNY: Casual dress in district court. Khaki pants and button up suit shirt and dress shoes in superior court. Trial by jury.
