Interview with Reggie, Sarah, Brenda, Mike and Will
JM: How often could you receive visitors? Reggie: I think visitation was once a week Sarah: My attorney came to visit once a day late
afternoon. He was pleading daily with Judge
Pittman and Judge Stephens to let me out. Other
than that, I was told inmates are not allowed to
have visitors for the first week. Brenda: every 2 weeks for 20 min on a TV screen not in
person safety reason i guess Mike: once every two weeks phone calls were your best and
worst bet. its not good to hear news in there anyway Will: We were allowed to see preapproved visitors every
other weekend for up to two hours, either on
Saturday or Sunday.
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? Reggie: The visitor had to be on your list and thet had
to come and register before visits Sarah: I have no idea. Brenda: yes all the time you have to wait for hrs to see
your love one and then you got 20 that crazy you
should at less get an hrs Mike: yes , i have my family and friends tell me it was
quite a struggle to even speak or try to get close
to me Will: It was lengthy the first time or two but after the
CO's knew you and your people, they would relax with
the searches and let you have the full time as the
time they take checking in and searching your
visitors comes out of your visitation time.
JM: What was the visiting environment like? Reggie: it is not a contact visit. You speak to the
person by monitor Sarah: My attorney visited me in my cell. Brenda: you have to see you family and friend on a TV
screen you couldn't see them in person which suck
if you had kids or babies you couldn't hold your
babies or hug them that real hurt they kids and
your self then they wonder why you temper out of
whack Mike: a 3.0 megapixel webcam camera. you tell me how that
is like... its horrible , you get 30 min. out of 2
weeks to get even a few words thru. its rarely
personal other inmates will see your family and
loved ones and make remarks wave to them and talk
later about it Will: We had a barb wire fence enclosed grassy area with
a few dozen picnic tables. We got to sit and talk
for a while without having the guards listen or be
near us. Your people were also allowed to bring
you in some real food and soda to drink which was
superb after eating prison food three times a day.
I got smithfields BBQ whenever I could.
