Meals

Interview with Kay

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Kay: Three meals per day we got

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Kay: It was aweful, every thing was so full of starch, we always got rice or potatoes or hot dogs, we never really got any meat except bologna that was bad, and I was pregnant there so I got an extra bag with nothing but bad hot bologna, there wasnt a big selection, always potatoes and rice

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Kay: Pancakes were everyones favorites in the mornign time. There was nothing else to appealing throughout the day though, maybe some cakes they had

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Kay: There were never any snacks outside of meals, you had to buy ciommissary, I never bought any because I didnt have money coming in, but when I looked at the price sheet it was pretty expensive, and not a large selection. Noodles, candy bars, a little hygeine.
