JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail? Dale: It's not like what one sees on television.
Mercer County might be abnormal in this regard,
as I'm sure Riker's or Cook County would be a
more difficult affair. If an inmate can keep his
head about him and obey the rules, it should not
be too horrific an experience.
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them? Dale: Obey the rules to the letter, and make an effort
to get along. I was told by a guard upon
admission that so long as I treat them like
gentlemen, they'd do the same for me. It was
true. Do not by any means start trouble; this
will only make your time there worse, and reflect
poorly on you in the courts.
JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to. Dale: I was released prior to sentencing so that I
might attend court-ordered rehab at a facility
called White Deer Run.
