Interview with Raquel

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Raquel: There was reck where you can go exersize, church, anger managment classes, parenting classes, self motivational classes, sometimes they would have someone come speak to us that had been into trouble with the las but changed their life around. And also we would have a movie Night when There was extra guards around.

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Raquel: Well on week days they had a tv schedule where the main srgt chose what we watched and on weekend we had cable from 10 am- 10 pm but aswell There was a schedule but only differance was we could choose what we watch but the arg chose if it was in english or spanish.

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Raquel: At the begining I did but I needed to keep my mind occupied so i started excersizing up to three times a day.

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
Raquel: We only got to go outside about two times a week, and when I did I would run or play basketball or just gaize into the sky.

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Raquel: Yes they did, they were really good and very helpful.I can honestly say its what got me through my time.
