Interview with Ryan, Alex, George, Diana and Maria

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Ryan: I DONT KNOW, I WAS ONLY IN TWO
Alex: 4 per floor each with 84 people. 4 floors I think- and that's just the new jail. There are another 600 people in the old jail i think.
George: MANY BLOCKS ON EACH FLOOR
Diana: I don't remember I was my counting
Maria: I believe there were six, but I couldn't swear to it.

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Ryan: YES, A, B, C...
Alex: Letters of the alphabet - a, b, c, d, etc.
George: A1,B1,C1...
Diana: 2A 2c 2d 3a 3b 3c just to name a few
Maria: Letters of the alphabet; you know, Cell Block A, Cell Block B, etc.

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Ryan: MIN. MED. MAX SECURITY
Alex: All mixed up BUT the bad ones were in 4C.
George: MIN TOGETHER, MAX SEPERATED
Diana: Sex offeners violent offenders dope fiends all these people are segregated also there's a unit for handicap people are in the medical unit also women are seoreted from men it's a good system
Maria: Well, they had the felons in one block, and the misdemeanors in another block, the crazies in a block and the sick in a block. They tended to keep like with like.

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Ryan: OVERCROWDED
Alex: I was only in receiving and 3D. Oh, it was VERY noisy most of the time. 10:00 lights out but you couldn't fall asleep because of everyone whispering and talking. Then when you do fall asleep, 4:30 am breakfast. 4:30!!!! Then they expect you to go back to sleep until at least 7. It's crazy. Most of the fights happen in the bathroom because the guard cant really see in there unless he's away from his desk, so you try to hurry in the bathroom so you don't get in the middle of something. The only decent thing is they do have private showers and for the most part, the guards are ok.
George: GETTING OUT, TO MANY LOUD MOUTHS
Diana: I remember the people being nice because I'm a nice person I gave all my food away because I didn't want it so I'd give it to someone who would want it when I didn't there was mean people too but I tend to stay away from them when I could
Maria: I remember that you didn't want to go past the crazies' cells, because they'd spit on you; and that one girl actually rammed her head into the wall and ended up bleeding profusely as a result, and had to be taken to the emergency room. Boy, what a bummer. huh?
