JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Nelson: Cards, television, that's about it.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Nelson: The cards were already in the cells. With the
TV, it wasn't too hard to choose what you
wanted. One person changed the channel and we
would all watch it. There weren't many
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Nelson: There wasn't a lot of physical activity to do
there. There was a yoga class every other day.
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Nelson: Never.
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Nelson: They didn't have church services that I was
