Interview with Nelson
JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Nelson: I'm pretty sure I just had a warrant out, I
think it was a bench warrant for not showing up
for court. I was at someone's house and
answered the door. It was a cop, who saw that I
had a warrant.
JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Nelson: I was arrested and the cops took me to jail.
JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Nelson: I went to court a week after I got into jail.
It was about a year ago and I have a bad
memory. I don't remember what happened in
court.
JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Nelson: I think I only got a fine for destruction of
property, but the thing was I was on probation
or parole or whatever so they just stuck me in
there.
