Interview with Karl, Lisa, Zach, Kelly, Jeff, Maurice, Jose and Ken
JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail? Karl: wear plenty of your own boxers to court and
solid colored white shirts so you can keep them
and have your own clothes during your stay. it
gets cold. save anything ang everything you can
find food old things inmates leave behind and
anything you can deem necessary to surviving.
dont think about your time just stay occupied. Lisa: Make sure you have your medications set up
before you go into the jail if you know you are
going and turn yourself in. They did not give
me my correct medications as I take on the
street, and consequently I had two seizures
durintg my stay, and was forced to clean up my
vomit from the floor after the last seizure. I
hope and pray no one else has to go thru what I
did during a stay at the Fayette county
Detention center. The second shift guard, Ms
Vogle was very rude and disrepectful. Zach: well go and see them as much as posable because
it gets very lonely in there and send money
because it helps out a lot and send letters it
gives you something to look forward to. Kelly: I would want to know that the food is not the
best and you need money to survive to buy things
for yourself to eat the food prtions are also
small Jeff: That putting money on someones account is very
helpful to that person because they can buy food and
hygiene products. It is also helpful to come and
visit because it can make an inmates stay a lot
easier when they have something to look forward to. Maurice: Jails never a good place to be but at lest
you know their safe and drug free and
they have a roof over their heads and get
3meals a day Jose: i would tell them that easy way to get along with
people there was to show respect because most
fights accured because a lack of respect and
people like to be respected Kelly: Jail is not a place anybody wants to be but
sometimes it takes going there for them to better
their lives. They will be fed and have a place to
sleep, so try not to worry about them. They wont
be there for ever and hopefully will come out with
the will to do better for themselves. Ken: Please dont forget about them, being mad because
they got them selves there is normal. But please
dont leave them for dead because with out friends
and family they will lose hope and not worry about
getting out if they have no loved once to look
forward to being with.
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them? Karl: where plenty of your own boxers to court and
solid colored white shirts so you can keep them
and have your own clothes during your stay. it
gets cold. save anything ang everything you can
find food old things inmates leave behind and
anything you can deem necessary to surviving.
dont think about your time just stay occupied.
dont snitch. Zach: keep to there self as much as posable and follow
orders try to get into a program unit hope
program or something like that or trustee it
helps time pass Kelly: please try to stay to yourself respect others and
the staff and you will not have a problem in the
jail it is could and a place youj don't want to
be Jeff: My advice to someone going to Fayette County
Detention Center would be to stay to your self and
stay out of any kind of trouble because you can get
time added to your sentence while you are in there. Maurice: To make your time easy dont come in
thinking you are bad cause someone will
be fast to show you your not and fallow
the rules and everything will go smoth Jose: to make sure their family puts plenty of money on
their books because if not they are screwed food
wise plus hey should try to get them some
magizines if able Kelly: Just go in there mind your own business, stay to
your self, do what is asked of you and just do
your time. It will be over before you know it. Ken: Stay to yourself. Dont Gamble at all. Focus on who
you are and maybe, just maybe you'll be in this
jail for the last time. Find inner peace for what
you have done, in jail you will be pushed, pulled,
and ripped apart if you allow it. Dont be a tough
guy with a smart ass attitude , cause every one
that is tough will try you. There is always
somebody bigger , tougher and can fight harder.
