Visitor Policy

Interview with Jamie and Karina

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Jamie: Usually once a week my sister and kids would come.Occasionally social workers or my husbands family
Karina: The visiting was on the weekends on saturday and sundays and that was it for that.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Jamie: Yes and there were very specific rules by which they went through.They had to check in early and wait for long periods of time as though they were the criminals
Karina: No the check in process was not lengthy at all they just checked in showed there id and then they would call the n=uinmate up for the visit

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Jamie: My family dreaded visiting because each time they came they gave them a hard time about something. Even my kids who absolutely had nothing to do with anything. We spoke through thick glass on a phone until someone came in and threw them out
Karina: `A ROOM WITH A OFFICER AND chairs lined up infront of you and the inmate sat on the opposite side of the visistor, There was not much to do but just talk, they had a metal detector for the visitor to go through before they came in to sit down and visist
