Clothing

Interview with Freddy

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Freddy: Long johns, underwear, socks t-shirts. Those were all the clothes we were allowed to wear from the outside and they all had to be white in color.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Freddy: We did have set uniforms. For the sentenced males, they were fashioned like hospital scrubs, but made out of a much thicker material and had black and white stripes on them.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Freddy: No, there were no differences in uniforms, nor were we ever given any choice on anything but size.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Freddy: Yes, the womens clothing was white.
