JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Freddy: We were allowed to go into the library/snack room
once a day for a period of 15 minutes. There was
also church services three times a week and an aa
service once a week. There was a rec yard, but we
were only given access to it 3 times the entire
year i was there.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Freddy: We had regular access to the television. If
competition for channel selection became heated,
then the corrections officers would simply turn
the television off to avoid confrontation. Our
main form of entertainment was friendly games of
dominoes as cards were no longer allowed to be
played there because of gambling issues.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Freddy: As I was a trustee, I was working a minimum of
four hours a day and did not have a hard time
staying actively fit.
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Freddy: I was allowed to go outside everyday because of
my trustee position, however there was one
gentleman there who was only allowed to go outside
one time the entire time he was incarcerated
because of his security status.
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Freddy: there were church services three times a week, on
Thursday Saturday and Sunday. they were a half
hour long based on gender unless there were no
females and then we would recieve the entire hour.
