Meals

Interview with Freddy

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Freddy: We were given three meals a day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Freddy: The food oin a scale of one to five was about a two. It was Aunt Jemima microwave breakfasts, and Banquet tv dinners for lunch and dinner. The selection was kept very small based on complaints about the size of some of the meals, and we were never given a choice on what we were served.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Freddy: I did not have a least favorite as they were all very bland. I did have one meal that I enjoyed more than otherw because of its size.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Freddy: There were never any unpaid snacks offered between meals. we were given access to the snack room once a day. The snacks ranged from fifty cents to one dollar and twenty five cents. Drinks were one dollar and twenty five cents.
