Interview with Tom and Joe
JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Tom: 2
Joe: we had three meals a day
JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Tom: Poor
Joe: the food was horrible. It was the same thing everyday. Cereal and
bread with fruit for breakfast, two sandwiches fruit and a side for
lunch and two sandwiches either a cake or cookie and a side for
dinner. We never had anything warm or hot for that matter
everything was cold
JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Tom: No they were all bad
Joe: the only meal i liked was peanut butter sandwiches because of the
protein i got for when i worked out.
JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Tom: no
Joe: No their was no commissary or any snacks until recently
commissary was available for the inmates and even then we cant
have extra food or the officers can take it away because it wasnt
part of the diet the jail offered
