Clothing

Interview with Mitch

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Mitch: The only clothes you could bring in were your underwear and socks and that was only if they were plain white.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Mitch: Our uniform was just a shirt and pants that were orange and white striped. Those were the only clothes they gave you and laundry was done twice a week.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Mitch: The main thing to look for is to make sure that you get a big enough size because everything is really shrunken and too small.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Mitch: No, the women wore the same uniforms.
