Good Behavior

Interview with Clinton and Tyrone

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Clinton: Yes. You can get up to a 5 day kick for working hard. I worked every day in the kitchen for 64 straight days. They told me they calculated the "good time" credits into my sentencing when I was sentenced. I'm still glad I worked so I wouldn't have to be confined as much.
Tyrone: Yes I did. I got out a month early.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Clinton: Court mandated good time is 1/3 time off. It's a given.
Tyrone: They have this thing that for every two days you will get a day of credit. Out of 10 days you will do 5 or 6 or 7.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Clinton: You can lose your good time for fighting, drug use, any infraction of their rules.
Tyrone: Just not getting in troule, doing your time, don't talk rude to the guards, don't get in fights, get get caught with anything. Do your time smoothly.
