Sentencing

Interview with Clinton and Tyrone

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Clinton: 210 days in Solano County
Tyrone: 180 days for felony evasion.

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Clinton: Yes. Horrible. You're in a dungeon like setting with nothing but bail numbers on the wall and a pay phone. It was crowded in there. Men were sleeping on cots on the floor. I was in there for about 8 hours. Once you are booked in you are sent to classification where you are observed for an unspecified amount of time. It takes about 4 days to go through that process.
Tyrone: Yes, in booking. It was dirty, stressful. They don't give you any information. I kept telling them my wife was going to bail me out but they only took me out when immigration came to talk to me. My wife paid the bail but they wouldn't let me out because I was on an INS hold. There have been a couple times where I was arrested and then have bailed out right away. My wife paid my bail an hour after I was booked but they wouldn't let me out.
