Interview with Clinton and Tyrone

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Clinton: Yes.
Tyrone: We had access to the phones that you call collect on. If you're in general population you come out twice a day for an hour. That is when you can access the phones.

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Clinton: The other person had to activate their phone using a credit card. The cost was $50 for 4/20 min phone calls.
Tyrone: $3 just to connect. They charged $2 to talk for a few minutes. So altogehter $5 for 15 minutes.

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Clinton: No.
Tyrone: No, you can only call collect.

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Clinton: Yes
Tyrone: Yes they do.
