JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Tom: orange and white 2 piece jumpsuit Frank: None. You get a whole wardrobe issue. Ashlee: Nothing what so ever. The clothes you came in
are put in a bag along with your other personnal
belongings. And you are given jail attire.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Tom: all there was to wear is 2 piece jumpsuits Frank: For max tanks you get: Orange shirt. striped
orange/white pants, white boxers, white socks,
orange Croc shoes.
For pods you get: plain white shirt, white boxers,
white socks, and a neon greenish yellow jumpsuit
that sort of looks like overalls, and grey or
green Croc shoes. Ashlee: Both pants and shirt are orange stripes and
bra's, panties, and socks are white. Depending
on the time you are jailed you would get an
orange sweatshirt.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Tom: Just newly arrived stuff in larger sizes. Since
all clothes are the same there is nothing really
to get except for new stuff Frank: socks. people are always wanting socks because
they are cheap and get holes all the time. Make
sure you get a sweatshirt during the cold season
because it is freezing. But besides that, try to
just get good clothes. A lot of them are ripped,
stretched, modified, etc. Ashlee: Not necessarily in high demand on the clothes,
but the size is what was in high demand when it
came to the clothes.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Tom: just in color Frank: Women get bras and different underwear. Ashlee: Yes, the men had jumpsuits beside pants and
shirt.
