Interview with Chandra
JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Chandra: Uncomfortable type of striped scrubs. Felony
offenders wear green and white, misdemeanors
wear blue and white, trustees were solid navy
blue. Federal inmates were orange and white
stripes, high risk inmates were in red
jumpsuits.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Chandra: See above.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Chandra: They gave you a sports bra when you were booked,
a pair of underwear and your jumpsuit. That's
all they give you. You can only get boxers and
t-shirts if you have money.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Chandra: Same.
