Interview with Tom, Oscar, Ralph, Robert and Bert

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Tom: scrubs
Oscar: blue l.a county jail clothes
Ralph: Two piece clothing: a v-necked top garment with one pocket and matching colored loose and badly fitting trousers with side pockets. Downtown they were blue and in the rural location in north LA county they were orange. On the back was written "LA County Jail".
Robert: Blue shirt and pants
Bert: just white clothes only and you were only allowed 3 of each item to have

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Tom: yes yellow scrubs I worked outside the fence
Oscar: it was all blue
Ralph: People also wore T-shirts under the V-necks and underpants. Also gym shoes.
Robert: Yellow and blue
Bert: orange shoes orand and white striped tops and orange and white striped bottoms then they changed it all over to white and black striped tops and bottoms . they also had different colors for different things

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Oscar: just newer county blues
Ralph: No.
Robert: Yes
Bert: yes different colors ment a lot of different things .

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Oscar: dont know never saw a woman in jail
Ralph: I was in an all-male jail.
Robert: No
Bert: yes it was at first then changed
