Interview with Bee, Anthony and Clarence

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Bee: Try to get them out as soon as possible. Also never put the wool blanket over your head. It pulls your hair out and a lot of women got bit from the bugs in it. Those blankets can;t get washed in as hot water like everything else so they aren't as sterilized.
Anthony: post bond if possible and make sure they put plenty of money on there books so they could buy plenty of commisary cause the food is terrible and not even enough and you eat dinner at 4 so by 8 or 9 at night you were starving so you need commisary to maintain and you need it for hygiene
Clarence: Just for the inmate to keep to themselves & don't get into any argument or confrontation with any other inmates. For family, try to stay in touch with them - write letters and/or come for visits as often as possible.

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Bee: Stay to yourself because whatever happens in there will be dragged into court. You'll be shocked at what they write down to try to make it so you can't leave.
Anthony: keep your head down try to make a few friends get really good at cards and find a good book to read cause its like an adult day care but if your going you dont have a choice so make the best of it and learn fro your mistake so you dont ever return
Clarence: Relax, it really is over sooner than they would expect, especially if they stay out of trouble while in jail. Try to read in your bunk and watch tv to pass time.

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Anthony: lake county is the only jail ive ever been to but i also did a month at haymarket center in chicago which is a rehab faccility
Clarence: Cook County (IL) jail & MCC (metropolitan correctional center) federal facility.
