Good Behavior

Interview with Bee, Anthony and Clarence

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Bee: No they don't really deal with that. They say they do but they don't. You can get day for day though. Which means if you get charged with a year you only have to 6 months. Everyday you spend in there counts as days.
Anthony: no I had to do straight time cause my sentencing was to periodic imprisonment
Clarence: Yes. I was aware of the possibility of this when I went in, so I did everything I could to comply.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Bee: N/A I didn't receive anything so I can't answer.
Anthony: you can get day for day which means if you have county time you do half your time so if you have 180 days you do 90
Clarence: 50%, as far as I know.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Bee: If you stay on the officers good side then you can do anything and get away with it and end up getting good time.
Anthony: if you get sent to seg it can affect your good time and yeah a few times i saw people act up and get sent to aeg and loose there good time
Clarence: The only action is not not get in a confrontation with fellow inmates or the guards (correction officers). Yes, I did see guys lose their good time grace by bad confrontations with the c.o and/or other inmates.
