JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Kate: please be suppoetive in everyway, money makes the world go around there and having what you need is crucial, also send lots of mail and pictures if allowed, ppl are cut off from communication with the ppl they love and mail allows you to reach out even if it 3am...jail is a very demeaning and sad place no one can feel worse than in that environment. offer encouragement but also extend a tough love give them a reason to never return there

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Kate: use common sense, take plenty of money, respect personal space, take a shower everyday, don't make friends, stay private , do not play cards!! find a book and sit down, write about everything in your head, be creative and never go back
