Sentencing

Interview with Kate

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Kate: I was placed on 2 years of intense probation and serve 90 days in jail

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Kate: yes, the holding cell is extremely cold and they do offer a wool blanket, the phone was broken so you had to yell into it for family to hear and the guards yell at you to be quiet!! you are searched before being placed but they remove your shoes and any type of jacket. you remain in your street clothes until you are classified to a pod assignment. there are always 2-5 girls in the same small room and they could be drunk dangerous sick, etc... the food is served through a slot in the door and its usually cold, I was in the holding cell 2 days before being classified, without a shower or feminine products as you have to purchase those. very dirty cold and unpredictable, it is also incredibly lonely and sad
